Exciting new projects revealed at GBA social networking event
At our meeting on Thursday 20 October 2011, held at the Mayfair Exchange, GBA and GPN members heard about plans for several new businesses.
The ideas included an innovative dating service which combines smartphones and personalised business cards which allows your profile to be seen with discretion. A new web page service for bars and clubs which will help them promote their special events and sell tickets online. And a chance to work with ParliOut at Westminster to raise funds for the Albert Kennedy Trust while networking with parliamentarians.

New promotional opportunities for GBA members
Highlights of the director's report:
- 800 LGBT owned businesses had applied for London 2012 contracts: 24% had been sucessul, and 6.5% had won contracts already - an above average success rate.
- All of the GBA's original 1983 aims and objectives had now been achieved
- GBA members can now show 300x250 banners on the web site
- 'GBA Market Intelligence' is providing useful news and information to members
- Our monthly meetings with GPN are proving popular, and we now have 3,000 online subscribers- We plan to add more business-focused seminars on members' premises (interested?)
- GBA plans to hold workshops with Pride Organisers, the Consortium of LGBT Voluntary Organisations, and with Pride House for Olympic visitors
